I'm afraid Lileks' build-up may have been a bit too much. I liked it enough to not regret going, but was kind of let down. The first third or more was very slow; the rest was better, but it didn't quite come together for me. On the other hand, two others who saw it with me weren't expecting much and were pleasantly surprised. On a related note, I was also a target of this PR-firm spamming as a result of my previous post. 12:25 PM | Judy, Judy, Judy I'd say "there goes the neighbourhood," but my neighbourhood is not exactly a haven for rational political viewpoints as it is. Still, this can't be good: Judy Rebick, a long-time feminist activist and socialist pundit, will hold the inaugural CAW-Sam Gindin Chair in Social Justice and Democracy at Ryerson University, it was announced yesterday.I'll have think up something appropriate to shout out should I run into Ms. Rebick rushing to class some day. 12:12 PM | |
